EFINOR is working to promote careers in industry and encourage gender diversity

Introducing students to careers in industry through hands-on experience

The French industrial sector encompasses a wide variety of occupations, areas of expertise, and career paths. However, certain industrial occupations are still sometimes little known or associated with outdated stereotypes.

To address this challenge, EFINOR regularly engages in on-the-ground initiatives that provide a hands-on look at its activities, workshops, teams, and work environments.

The best way to learn about industrial trades is through hands-on experience: observing professional techniques, understanding the manufacturing process, talking with the teams, learning about the tools, quality and safety requirements, and also getting a sense of the human diversity that makes up the workshops.

With this in mind, several initiatives were carried out simultaneously across our entities in Normandy and Brittany.

EFINOR Métal and EFINOR Allais welcome interns through the “Tu as ta place” program

As part of the ongoing initiatives launched in partnership with the UIMM in the Manche department, the EFINOR Métal and EFINOR Allais workshops hosted interns from June 22 to 25, 2026, as part of the “Tu as ta place” program.

For four days, two interns were hosted at EFINOR Métal and two interns at EFINOR Allais to learn about the various professions, skills, and realities of the industrial sector.

This initiative aims to break the mold, combat stereotypes, and remind people that the industry has no gender. It enables young talent to envision themselves in technical, demanding, and promising careers, particularly in fields where women are still sometimes underrepresented.

Through their interactions with the EFINOR teams, the interns were able to learn how the workshops operate, the skills required on a daily basis, and the career opportunities available in industrial fields.

This immersion program offers a valuable opportunity to inspire career interests, answer questions, and demonstrate that careers in industry are open to everyone.

EFINOR Sea Cleaner is opening its doors to women seeking a career change

At the same time, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, the teams at EFINOR Sea Cleaner in Paimpol opened their doors to 12 women undergoing career transition as part of the INDUSTRI’ELLES initiative, coordinated by the Directorate General for Enterprises.

This visit, organized with the support of the UIMM Training Center in Plérin, was intended to introduce the company, its activities, and its job roles to women who are considering a career change or are in the process of one.

The participants had the opportunity to talk with the teams, explore the work environments, and gain a better understanding of the diverse range of skills sought after in the industry. This type of event helps make careers in industry more tangible and accessible, particularly for people who might not otherwise have considered the industry as a possible career path.

For EFINOR Sea Cleaner, this open house is fully in line with its commitment to promoting and highlighting the value of its trades, as well as its desire to contribute to a more inclusive industry.

INDUSTRI’ELLES: Uniting and Empowering Women in Industry

The INDUSTRI’ELLES collective aims to bring together women in industry, regardless of their professions, levels of responsibility, or career paths: operators, technicians, engineers, managers, or executives.

Its mission is centered on several key objectives: promoting the sharing of best practices, building a pool of role models, organizing mentoring programs, and raising the profile of existing initiatives that support women’s roles in the industry.

By joining this initiative, EFINOR Sea Cleaner is helping to promote inspiring career paths and shed light on industrial professions that are sometimes still too little known to the general public.

These initiatives help change perceptions and demonstrate that the industry offers concrete opportunities, including for career transitions.

Gender Diversity: A Key Issue for the Future of the Industry

Promoting gender diversity in industry is not just a matter of image. It is also a key driver for addressing the challenges of recruitment, skills transfer, and innovation.

Industrial sectors are evolving rapidly. They are incorporating new technologies, new environmental requirements, new production methods, and new expectations regarding quality, safety, and performance.

In this context, the diversity of profiles, backgrounds, and experiences is a valuable asset for industrial companies. Encouraging more women to explore, enter, and advance in these careers helps expand the talent pool and enhance the sector’s appeal.

At EFINOR, this commitment translates into concrete actions: hosting interns, organizing company tours, engaging with teams, participating in career exploration programs, and collaborating with partners in education and industry.

Collective Actions to Boost Industrial Attractiveness

The success of these initiatives depends on the joint commitment of businesses, training organizations, professional associations, and groups dedicated to promoting gender diversity.

EFINOR would like to thank the UIMM of La Manche, the UIMM Training Center in Plérin, the INDUSTRI’ELLES collective, and all the teams involved at EFINOR Métal, EFINOR Allais, and EFINOR Sea Cleaner.

By opening its workshops and facilities to the public, the group helps raise awareness of industrial careers and supports the talent of tomorrow in their career choices or career transitions.

These initiatives reflect a strong commitment: to introduce people to the industry in a new light, to promote gender diversity, and to enable everyone to find their place in careers that are meaningful and offer a promising future.

Through these initiatives in Normandy and Brittany, EFINOR reaffirms its commitment to promoting industrial careers, passing on expertise, and fostering gender diversity in the workforce.

Whether they involve young interns getting their first taste of the workshops or women seeking career transitions and exploring new professional opportunities, these events help build concrete bridges between the public, companies, and industrial careers.

For EFINOR, the industry of tomorrow will be built on a foundation of diverse, committed, and supported talent. This conviction guides the group’s actions in the field, alongside its partners.
